Richard E. Hyman,
Founder
Richard’s inspiration to protect the ocean was nurtured by his seafaring grandfather and reinforced by Captain Jacques-Yves Cousteau, for whom he served aboard the famed ship Calypso. He founded Future Frogmen in 2017.
Gabe Barrett is senior at the University of Connecticut, where he is majoring in environmental science with a minor in ecology. He is passionate about marine conservation and the great outdoors and plans to applying his computational skills towards answering data intensive biological questions.
Halle Berger is a PhD student at the University of Connecticut. She recently earned her master's in Oceanography, researching the vulnerability of Dungeness crabs to climate change. Halle is passionate about applied research and outreach, and plans to pursue a career in marine fisheries science.
Molly Brannick is a senior at St. John’s University and is majoring in Biology with a double minor in Spanish and International Studies. She is passionate about the environment and is working as a Science Advisory intern. She hopes to raise awareness and positively contribute to the movement focused on protecting the earth.
Meghan Cleary is a junior at the University of Virginia majoring in environmental science and minoring in chemistry. She is interning as a Writer. Meghan is passionate about climate change mitigation and conservation, and hopes to pursue a career in those fields after graduation. In her free time she enjoys playing volleyball, hiking, travelling, and volunteering.
Alicia Connelly is a senior at SUNY New Paltz. She is completing a Bachelor's degree in Digital Media Production, with minors in Film and Video Studies, and Studio Art. She enjoys art, film, and photography, and is looking to pursue a career in the media industry. Alicia’s role is to produce videos for Future Frogmen.
Caroline Graves is a senior at Fairfield University where she studies Biology with a minor in Marine Science. She is a Science Advisor at Future Frogmen. She plans to pursue a career in marine biology and conservation. She is passionate about ocean conservation and loves to travel.
Deviana Lal is a third-year at New York University, where she is majoring in Environmental Studies and minoring in Psychology and Linguistics. She is curious about the connection between language and the environment, specifically in sustainable marketing and branding. Deviana plans to pursue a career in environmental policy writing.
Callum Man is a senior at the Center for Global Studies, an interdistrict magnet high school in Norwalk, CT, focused on teaching the languages, culture, history, and literature of China, Japan, and the Middle East. He authored and published "Late Bloomers and Early Bloomers" (New Degree Press).
Hetal Patel was our first volunteer. She joined when she was a junior in high school. Richard had been asked to mentor her. She has since graduated from the University of Southern California with a BS in Environmental Science and a MS in Global Supply Chain Management. Today she works at BlackRock as a Corporate Sustainability Analyst.
Will Paulson is the Technical Producer of the Blue Earth Podcast. He is a senior at the University of Washington where he is earning a degree in Journalism after receiving a degree in Digital Audio Engineering some years prior. Raised in the Pacific Northwest, he has a fondness for the great outdoors and environmental preservation. When he is not editing audio he is often camping, hiking, kayaking, or playing in bands around Seattle.
Kevin Stam is a MPH Graduate of Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Santé Publique, and earned a BS in Biology from the University of Washington in Seattle.
He is a French-American citizen with diverse global experience in environmental health issues. He aspires to improve planetary health policy.
He is a Writer intern. His hobbies include playing tennis, hiking, and exchanging ideas.
Bonnie Steinberg a senior at Colgate University where she is double-majoring in Environmental Biology and Spanish. She is passionate about the environment and sustainability and is excited to be working with Future Frogmen to spread knowledge and awareness of the issues our oceans are facing. She is especially interested in studying and working towards climate change mitigation in the future.
